Belated shoutout for the birth of Destiny’s Child / Baby Blue!
In case you missed this last night. I feel the same way today.
This is what my uterus feels like RIGHT NOW.
[UPDATED: Yes, please save this image and use it however you would like. My very talented friend made it for me as this Tumblr was taking off and I’m sure he’d be thrilled to have people use it at walks/protests/etc.
You can use this image for posters/signs to use at protests/walks. You can put this image up on your own website (please link back). But you cannot use this image in anyway that you can make money off of it. So, please - play fair.]
So wrong, yet so right …
Hey guys. I’m sure y’all have heard of SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act). These two bills will end the internet for good. And sites like Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, Youtube, Google, and more will be banned. All of the American-based sites will no longer exist because of these 2 bills. That means no more Tumblr for all of us. Obama said no to this, which is good. But there will still be a voting in the US. These are the sponsors of SOPA and PIPA. I’m sorry to say that we’ll have to boycott them or else the internet will no longer exist. I know most of us buy things from these companies but this is really important. So if you live in America or an American citizen, please, please, PLEASE vote against this! And reblog this and spread the word!

“Kanye West in Color” - Painting by Sam Spratt
Though I’ve done Kanye before, listening to “Watch the Throne” made me want to go gorillas (“I don’t even know what that means” “No one knows what it means but it’s provocative”) with the colors and layering—mixing in a mess of loose and tight brushwork, and some hand-drawn type.
On this day in 1865, the Ku Klux Klan was founded. The Klan, of course, has had a hand in some of the nation’s most infamous acts of racial terror and murder…
But what does the KKK look like today? Photographer Anthony Karen has documented the modern-day Klan in their homes, at rallies, and at Klan gatherings, taking us deep inside a world we would otherwise never see — a world most of us might not even want to know about
“The couple got married the day before hurricane Gustav made landfall in Louisiana in 2008,” Karen says of the newlyweds portrayed here. “It was a traditional Klan ceremony, with vows exchanged in front of a fiery cross, performed at a remote hunting camp in the middle of a nature preserve. The bride was dead-set on taking her wedding portrait with cypress trees in the background, so she put her husband and me on the back of an ATV and took us on a death-defying ride to find the perfect spot.”

Behati & I - from YouTube to campaign.
This afternoon I’m having my good friend Behati over for lunch. She’s been in Mexico working so I haven’t seen her in a while. I recently re-discovered this campaign we both did together and I wanted to share the funny story behind it: When we were baby-models, Behati and I would always room together during the fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris. We got a little loopy sometimes and made these ridiculous videos on our MacBook which we infamously posted on YouTube. (You can see examples HERE and HERE.) Apparently the creative people at Holt Renfrew loved the videos so much they PAID us to remake the experience in a hotel room in Toronto. Another example of art imitating life or something like that…
